Olivia Rodrigo Earns Third No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 With You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love
Olivia Rodrigo has earned her third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 as her third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, opens at the top of the chart dated June 27.
The album launched with 485,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the tracking week ending June 18, according to Luminate. That total gives Rodrigo the biggest week of her career by units and marks the largest week of 2026 for any album by a solo artist.
Rodrigo previously reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with both of her earlier studio albums, SOUR in 2021 and GUTS in 2023.
Singles Helped Build Momentum
Before the album’s release, Rodrigo previewed the project with two major Billboard Hot 100 hits.
The opening track, “drop dead,” reached No. 1 in May, while “the cure” climbed to No. 5 in June. Both songs helped generate strong anticipation for the full album.
How Billboard 200 Rankings Are Calculated
The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums in the United States each week using multi-metric consumption totals measured in equivalent album units.
Those units include traditional album sales, track equivalent albums, and streaming equivalent albums. One equivalent unit can represent one album sale, 10 individual tracks sold from an album, 2,500 ad-supported on-demand streams, or 1,000 paid subscription on-demand official audio and video streams from songs on the album.
The full June 27, 2026 Billboard 200 chart is scheduled to be published on Billboard’s website on June 23.
Rodrigo Posts Huge Sales and Streaming Numbers
Of the album’s 485,000 equivalent album units, traditional album sales accounted for 273,000, giving Rodrigo her best sales week yet. It also became the biggest sales week of 2026 for a woman and debuted at No. 1 on Top Album Sales.
Streaming equivalent album units totaled 211,000, equal to 218.41 million official on-demand streams of the album’s songs. That marks the biggest streaming week of 2026 by a woman and gives the album a No. 1 debut on Top Streaming Albums.
Track equivalent album units added another 1,000 to the total.
Physical Variants and Vinyl Boost First-Week Sales
The album’s first-week sales were supported by more than 15 physical editions, including two signed versions.
Vinyl played a major role in the album’s launch, with 164,000 vinyl copies sold in its opening week. That is Rodrigo’s biggest vinyl sales week to date and the largest vinyl week of 2026 by a woman.
The Unraveled Tour Begins in September
Rodrigo is set to begin The Unraveled Tour on September 25 in Hartford, Connecticut.
The tour is currently scheduled to continue through at least May 10, 2027, when it reaches London.
Only New Top 10 Debut This Week
Rodrigo’s new album is the only debut inside the top 10 of the latest Billboard 200 chart.
Drake’s ICEMAN, which spent its first four weeks at No. 1, drops to No. 2 in its fifth week with 105,000 equivalent album units, down 21%.
Ella Langley’s Dandelion falls from No. 2 to No. 3 with 84,000 units, down 4%. Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem slips from No. 3 to No. 4 with 78,000 units, down 2%.
Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide moves from No. 4 to No. 5 with 71,000 units, up 5%, while Michael Jackson’s Thriller holds steady at No. 6 with 53,000 units, down 4%.
Other Albums in the Top 10
Michael Jackson’s Number Ones rises one position to No. 7 with 49,000 equivalent album units, down 4%.
Morgan Wallen’s former No. 1 album One Thing at a Time climbs from No. 9 to No. 8 with 39,000 units, down 4%.
Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving moves up one spot to No. 9 with 35,000 units, down 1%, while BTS’ chart-topping ARIRANG rises from No. 11 to No. 10 with 34,000 units, down less than 1%.
