Carly Rae Jepsen Announces New Double Album Day and Night, With Fresh Single Coming This Week
Carly Rae Jepsen is officially preparing to release new music with the announcement of her upcoming double album, Day and Night.
The Canadian pop singer’s latest project was announced Monday by Interscope Records and is scheduled to arrive on September 18. The album’s first single, “On Wires,” is set to be released later this week.
Day and Night Features 24 Songs
Day and Night will include 24 tracks, split evenly into two parts: 12 songs for Day and 12 songs for Night.
The album is being described as Jepsen’s most complete and unified artistic statement so far. According to the album description, the project explores a dreamlike sense of time, where nights flow into mornings and days fade into evenings, creating the feeling of being held inside one suspended moment.
Carly Rae Jepsen Teased the Project Online
Jepsen had been teasing the album on social media for more than a week before the official announcement.
Earlier today, she shared a video clip and the album cover on Instagram, confirming that fans had correctly guessed the project would be a double album.
In another post, Jepsen explained that the record moves through two very different emotional and sonic worlds. She described Day as more open, organic and grounded, while Night feels more escapist, intense and dance-driven.
Different Sounds for Day and Night
The Day side of the album leans into 1970s-inspired psychedelic pop, giving the project a warmer and more earthbound sound.
The Night portion moves toward synth-heavy dance pop, offering a more energetic and immersive contrast.
Jepsen worked with several collaborators on the album, including Tavish Crowe, Kyle Shearer, Nate Cyphert and Cole M.G.N.
