Country Star Drops New Album During 2026 Tour
Koe Wetzel has officially opened a new chapter in his career with the release of his sixth studio album, The Night Champion.
The Texas-born country-rock artist released the project on June 12, just ahead of a major 45-city tour across the United States and Canada.
The album is Wetzel’s first full-length release since 2024’s 9 Lives, the record that helped move him from a major Texas favorite into one of the most recognizable names in modern country music.
Breakthrough Success After 9 Lives
The new album follows a major breakthrough period for Wetzel.
His collaboration with Jessie Murph, “High Road,” reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and also finished as iHeartRadio’s top song of 2025.
Earlier this year, Wetzel hinted that a new era was coming when he shared the message, “Ready for this new chapter to start.” He later released the reflective single “Time Goes On,” which suggested that a larger body of work was on the way.
The Night Champion Features 11 Tracks
The Night Champion includes 11 songs and reunites Wetzel with producer Gabe Simon, who also worked with him on 9 Lives.
What initially began as a plan to record only a handful of songs eventually grew into a complete album.

The four-month run starts in July and will bring him to arenas and amphitheaters across North America. Major stops include Nashville, New York City, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Austin and Morrison, Colorado.
Several artists will join Wetzel on select dates, including Shane Smith & The Saints, Ole 60, Wyatt Flores, Corey Kent and Wade Bowen.
Setlist Will Mix New Songs and Fan Favorites
Wetzel said the tour setlist will combine older favorites with songs from The Night Champion.
Fans can expect to hear new material alongside established hits such as “February 28, 2016” and “High Road.”

Even as the new album gains attention, Wetzel has already teased the possibility of more music.
Fans who subscribe to his text message community recently received access to an exclusive preview called The Night Champion Continued. The teaser included six songs, five of which had not been heard before.
