Bodega Announce New Album All Inside Aquarium and Share Melodic Title Track

New York City rock band Bodega have announced their fourth full-length album, All Inside Aquarium, which will be released on October 9 through Chrysalis Records.

The project follows their 2024 album Our Brand Could Be Yr Life and continues the band’s evolution beyond the post-punk label often attached to them.

Title Track Released as Lead Single

To introduce the album, Bodega have shared the title track “All Inside Aquarium” as the lead single.

The song features thick, melodic guitar work and finds frontman Ben Hozie leaning into a loose, ’90s-style slacker indie rock energy.

Hozie described the track as an attempt at an existential anthem. He explained that pain, once it fades, can lead to a clearer and more peaceful perspective, where creativity flows more naturally and a person can feel both connected to everything and more fully themselves.

Band Moves Toward a More Melodic Rock Sound

Hozie said he has never viewed Bodega strictly as a post-punk band. Instead, he considers the group a conceptual rock band.

With All Inside Aquarium, the band wanted to return to melodic songwriting and embrace the feel of a more traditional rock band. Hozie pointed to late-1980s and early-1990s influences, placing the sound somewhere between The Stone Roses and Jane’s Addiction.

Special Vinyl and Bandcamp Editions

The album will be released in several collectible formats.

Dinked exclusive edition will be pressed on cloudy blue vinyl and include a 7-inch single. A limited Bandcamp edition will feature hand-painted alternate artwork created by Belfiglio.

Recording and Production Details

Bodega recorded the album in the United Kingdom with producer Matt Peel at The Nave, his Leeds studio located inside a deconsecrated church.

The record was later mixed in Brighton with Theo Verney.

Recent Bodega Releases

All Inside Aquarium follows Our Brand Could Be Yr Life, released in 2024, as well as the 2025 mini-album Rot In Helvetica, which the band released under the alter-ego name NODEGA.

Last year, Bodega also shared “Myrtle Parade” and announced Brand On The Run, a deluxe edition of Our Brand Could Be Yr Life featuring seven additional tracks, including B-sides and previously unreleased material.

Bodega’s upcoming album All Inside Aquarium signals a more melodic and guitar-driven direction for the New York City band. With its title track already released, special vinyl editions planned, and a busy tour schedule ahead, the group is preparing for a new chapter that moves beyond post-punk into broader conceptual rock territory.
