Mobile Musician Kat Deal Set to Release New Song and Launch First Mini-Tour

Local singer-songwriter Kat Deal has become a familiar name in the Mobile music scene, and now she is preparing for two major steps in her career. The 25-year-old artist is releasing a new song titled “Mondays, Right?” and will soon head out on her first-ever mini-tour.

Known for blending country and pop influences, Deal has built her sound around honest storytelling, emotional lyrics, and performances that connect with everyday experiences.

First Mini-Tour Takes Kat Deal to Texas

Deal is especially excited about traveling to Texas, including a stop in Austin, a city widely known for its strong music culture. She said she has never performed in Texas before, and Austin will mark one of the farthest places she has traveled for music so far.

The upcoming trip will be a new experience for Deal, who said she has not yet spent eight or nine straight days on the road performing with another artist. The mini-tour is also independently funded, making it a personal and ambitious step for her career.

“Mondays, Right?” Features Artist Huey

Deal’s new song, “Mondays, Right?”, will be released on Monday and features her close friend and fellow artist Huey. The two musicians will also travel together for the upcoming Texas run.

The collaboration adds a personal touch to the release, as both artists are stepping into this new touring experience side by side.

Song Explores Hard Times and Escapism

According to Deal, “Mondays, Right?” captures the feeling of struggling through difficult moments in life. She said the song reflects the experience of going through hard times and feeling tempted to disappear into a dive bar or escape from reality for a while.

Through its lyrics and acoustic feel, the track aims to connect with listeners who have faced emotional lows and searched for a way to cope.

From Rural Alabama to Mobile Stages

Deal comes from Jersey, Alabama, a rural community located about 30 minutes from Troy. She began performing regularly in Mobile after starting graduate school at the University of South Alabama in 2022.

Even before officially beginning her master’s degree, Deal had already booked around 20 shows a month. During that time, she also became close with local musicians and found a supportive creative community in Mobile.

She described the city’s music scene as amazing and said it has played a major role in helping her grow as an artist.

Kat Deal Plans to Keep Playing in Mobile

Deal currently has seven original songs, and she has no plans to stop writing or performing. Even if her upcoming mini-tour opens bigger doors for her music career, she said she still feels deeply connected to Mobile.

Although Mobile is not her actual hometown, Deal said it feels like home to her. She credited the city with shaping her growth and said that as long as Mobile continues to welcome her, she will keep performing there.

Live Performance at Brickyard

Fans will get the chance to hear “Mondays, Right?” live when Deal performs the song next Monday at 9 p.m. at Brickyard.

The performance will mark another important moment for the rising artist as she celebrates the release of her new song before heading out on the road.

Conclusion

Kat Deal’s new single “Mondays, Right?” marks an important chapter in her journey as a country-pop artist from Alabama. With her first mini-tour ahead, a collaboration with Huey, and continued support from Mobile’s music community, Deal is taking her music beyond the Port City while staying connected to the scene that helped shape her.
