Madonna’s New Single Becomes First Track From Her Upcoming Album to Miss No. 1
Madonna fans do not have much longer to wait for Confessions II, the long-anticipated follow-up to her Grammy-winning and career-shaping album Confessions on a Dance Floor. The original record arrived more than 20 years ago, and its sequel has become one of the most talked-about dance-pop releases of 2026.
Throughout spring 2026, Madonna has been actively promoting the project and has already released three singles from the album. Each track from Confessions II has made an impact on the U.S. charts, especially on Billboard’s dance-focused rankings.
Her latest release, “Love Sensation,” has now entered two Billboard charts. While it becomes one of Madonna’s strongest-performing hits on the Dance Digital Song Sales chart, it is also the first single from the upcoming album that does not reach No. 1 on that ranking.
“Love Sensation” Debuts at No. 3
“Love Sensation” makes an immediate entrance inside the top 10 of Billboard’s Dance Digital Song Sales chart, which tracks the bestselling dance songs sold through download platforms such as iTunes.
The track opens at No. 3, selling just over 1,400 copies, according to Luminate. That strong debut shows that Madonna’s dance audience remains highly engaged as anticipation grows for Confessions II.
Jennie and Tame Impala Keep Madonna From No. 1
Madonna was blocked from another No. 1 debut by two songs that had already topped the Dance Digital Song Sales chart.
“Dracula” by Tame Impala and Jennie of BLACKPINK returns to No. 1 after sitting at No. 3 just days earlier. It replaces “Go” by The Chemical Brothers, which moves down from the top position to No. 2.
As a result, “Love Sensation” starts at No. 3 instead of becoming Madonna’s next chart leader.
Madonna Earns Her Twelfth Top 10 Dance Bestseller
Madonna has now placed 25 songs on the Dance Digital Song Sales chart. With “Love Sensation,” she earns her twelfth top 10 entry on the ranking.

“Love Sensation” Breaks Madonna’s Confessions II No. 1 Streak
Although “Love Sensation” performs strongly, it becomes the first Confessions II single that does not top the Dance Digital Song Sales chart.
The album’s first single, “I Feel So Free,” debuted at No. 1 in early May. The second single, “Bring Your Love,” featuring Sabrina Carpenter, entered the chart a week later and then climbed to No. 1 in the following frame.
Madonna first reached No. 1 on the chart three years ago with “Vulgar,” her collaboration with Sam Smith. That track debuted at the top, although it spent only one week on the tally.
“Love Sensation” Becomes One of Madonna’s Highest-Rising Dance Hits
Even without reaching No. 1, “Love Sensation” instantly becomes Madonna’s fifth highest-rising song on the Dance Digital Song Sales chart.
It follows her three No. 1 hits — “I Feel So Free,” “Bring Your Love,” and “Vulgar” — as well as her remix appearance on Dua Lipa’s “Levitating,” which peaked at No. 2 in summer 2020.
“Love Sensation” Appears on Two Billboard Charts
While “Love Sensation” opens strongly in sales, it does not debut on broader Billboard charts such as the Hot 100, the company’s global charts, Streaming Songs, airplay rankings, or several additional dance and electronic lists.
However, the single does enter the all-genre Digital Song Sales chart at No. 16. That position ties Madonna’s previous peaks on the same chart with “Vulgar” featuring Sam Smith and her classic hit “Like a Prayer.”
“I Feel So Free” and “Bring Your Love” Continue Charting
As “Love Sensation” arrives, Madonna’s previous two Confessions II singles are still active on Billboard charts.
“I Feel So Free” falls 10 spots to No. 15 on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart. Meanwhile, “Bring Your Love” returns to that same chart at No. 37, just one place below its previous peak.
The Sabrina Carpenter collaboration also remains steady at its No. 26 peak on the Pop Airplay chart and slips one position to No. 22 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart.
Madonna’s “Love Sensation” adds another successful chapter to the rollout of Confessions II. While it does not continue the album’s No. 1 streak on the Dance Digital Song Sales chart, its No. 3 debut still ranks among Madonna’s strongest dance sales performances. With three singles charting at once and the album release approaching, Confessions II is shaping up to be a major moment in Madonna’s 2026 comeback.
