Hoobastank Releases First New Song in 10 Years, “How Do You Sleep?”
Hoobastank have officially returned with fresh original music for the first time in nearly 10 years. Fans who attended the band’s recent performance at Vans Warped Tour in Washington, D.C., received an unexpected surprise when the group introduced their new song, “How Do You Sleep?”
The track marks an important moment for longtime followers of the band, as it signals a new creative chapter after years without a major original release. The song also reconnects Hoobastank with a familiar and highly respected name from their past.
Howard Benson Reunites With Hoobastank
For “How Do You Sleep?”, Hoobastank worked once again with acclaimed producer Howard Benson. Benson previously produced the band’s major 2003 album The Reason, which remains one of the most recognizable releases in Hoobastank’s career.
This new collaboration brings the band back together with a producer who played a key role in shaping one of their biggest commercial and artistic moments. According to frontman Doug Robb, returning to the studio with Benson helped unlock the band’s creative energy.
Robb said releasing new music feels refreshing, describing it as if a creative “pressure valve” had finally opened. He also credited Benson’s excitement and guidance as a major factor in pushing the band forward, while noting that this time the producer allowed them more freedom than he may have in the past.
A New Creative Era for Hoobastank
The release of “How Do You Sleep?” arrives at a busy time for Hoobastank. Along with dropping new music, the band has a packed live schedule that includes festival appearances, state fairs, casino shows, and amphitheater dates.
Over the next few months, Hoobastank will perform at several major events before joining Staind as a supporting act on the Break the Cycle 25th anniversary tour. That tour will also feature Seether and Hinder, making it a major lineup for fans of early 2000s rock and post-grunge music.
